Embyr tends her tavern while keeping her dangerous parentage a secret, until she’s attacked by a hellhound and saved by one of the most feared men in history. For the last eight hundred years, Ryder McLennon, the infamous leader of Death’s Horsemen, has used his army to hunt the vampire who killed his wife.

He’s earned a reputation as a murderous madman. But in Embyr, he discovers something that could turn the tide of battle in his favor. Her control over fire can reduce an enemy to ash and her flippant disregard of him heats his blood in ways no one else ever has. She’s beautiful, powerful and completely different from her violence-loving brethren.

Embyr finds herself thrust into a war she wants no part of, targeted by a vicious vampire because of her cooperation with Ryder. As she learns to wield her demonic powers without letting the madness of her race overcome her, she also has to fight her attraction to a killer bent on her seduction.

My Month in Books: November Edition

The end of another month and the tally of my read books is complete. It’s crazy to me that it’s already December. 2017 is about to come to an end and we have an entire year ahead full of possibilities. But before I get ahead of myself let us now look back at the books I’ve read this past month.

Shadow Rider by Christine Feehan 4_stars-svg

The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter 2000px-3-5_stars-svg

The Trouble with the Twelfth Grave by Darynda Jones 5_stars-svg

I’ve read so many good paranormal books over the past couple years that I sometimes feel as if I’ve read them at all. That of course is not true. After discovering the Charley Davidson series and reading the first 11 books in under a week back in July, book twelve recently came out and I devoured that as well, now a years wait for the finale to this epic series. I also decided to give a couple new authors a try and really enjoyed their books.

Contemporary Romance

Bad at Love by Karina Halle 2000px-3-5_stars-svg

Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan 535px-3_stars-svg

The Fortunate Ones by R.S. Grey 535px-3_stars-svg

2017 has been a year full of romance novels and this month I added another 3 to the read list. They were enjoyable and helped me escape reality for a good couple hours, which is what I hope any good book would do.

How was the month of November for you in terms of books?

Happy Reading!

August Wrap-Up

Summer is over and the school year is in full swing bringing with it all the hectic deadlines and countless assignments. But before all of that I had quite a successful reading month, devouring a sum total of 25 books. Nowhere near the 50 of July but a real feat nonetheless. Despite the differences in the number of books, the trend generally remained the same of me reading paranormal and romance novels. Here are the books I read this month.

The Warlord Wants Forever by Kresley Cole 2000px-2_stars-svg

Paranormal as a genre is great cause their are so many books in one series that if you end up liking them you have about a dozen books lined up that’ll generally last you awhile. But since I am a fast reader I tend to read a book or two a day and so I usually end up finishing said 12 book series in just under a week. So that is how I ended up reading the entire Mercy Thompson series along with the spin off series. I ended up trying Kresley Coles series as well but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked so I stopped at book 1.

Wardrobe Malfunction by Samantha Towle 535px-3_stars-svgwardrobe malfunction

Nero by Sarah Brianne 535px-3_stars-svg

Vincent by Sarah Brianne 535px-3_stars-svg

Tapping the Billionaire by Max Monroe 4_stars-svg

Scoring the Billionaire by Max Monroe 4_stars-svg

Banking the Billionaire by Max Monroe 4_stars-svgbillionaires

Beautiful by Christina Lauren 4_stars-svg

At this point I’m sure it’s pretty obvious that I enjoy me some romance novels but in the past few months I’ve read quite a few and the genre itself is getting a bit repetitive for me. Despite that I enjoyed a lot of these books, I finished the Beautiful series and discovered a new favorite author Max Monroe. Her billionaire series is hilarious, i was in stitches the whole time I was reading her books.

The Awakening by Kate Chopin 4_stars-svgthe awakening

This was my summer reading assignment for my AP English class and it wasn’t all that bad. It was super easy to read and although at times it was a bit dry I didn’t end up hating it as I usually do with reading assignments.

That is it for all the books I read this month! What are some of your favorite reads this month?

Happy Reading!

My Month in Books: July Wrap-Up

June as a reading month sucked because I was in the middle of a book slump but if June was the equivalent of a reading drought July was a flood. After getting over that book slump I quite simply devoured books this month from last month’s measly 5 books this month I read a total of 52 books! Even I can’t believe it was possible but I somehow managed to do it. I read an overwhelmingly large amount of romance this month but managed to sneak in a couple of other genres in their midst. All in all, I had a great reading month and now this wrap up is huge.

I decided to take part in the Biannual Bibliothon blog challenges earlier this month but a series of unfortunate events (computer breakdown as well as internet problems caused by a blackout) prohibited me from doing so. Thus that is the reason why I’ve been MIA the past week and only managed to get the first day of challenges done. Now as for the reading challenges, let’s just say I suck at sticking to TBR’s I read a few books from that TBR but my subconscious decided to rebel and wanted to read everything but what’s was on that list. Since the list is huge along with breaking it down by genre I’m also listing them by the author since I read multiple books by the same authors. So now with that cleared up here is my ginormous wrap-up for this month.Read More »
