We have passed down an entire stretch of road and now stare at the beginning of another. I have a bit of a hit or miss relationship with making resolutions- as you can see in more detail here – yet I’ve decided to approach 2018 differently than I did 2017. I’m a year older and thus much wiser than I was last year (I hope so at least). Instead of making concrete detailed goals, I’m going to outline a few things I want to accomplish and look at them as guidelines rather than strict rulings of my behavior.
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a lovely summer. Mine is sadly about to come to an end. I’ve been a bit MIA this past month and that has a lot to do with me focusing on my college applications. I’ve decided to apply to quite a few schools (12 total) and am trying to get as much done as possible before school starts up again in a couple weeks.
Along with the distraction that comes along with college apps, I’ve been plagued with computer problems this past couple months, and my trustworthy laptop has finally taken it’s last breath (its demise ushered along by my water wielding reckless younger brother). I luckily have a desktop to fall back on but since its shared communally among my family I don’t get much of a chance to be on it and sadly college apps are the priority. I just wanted y’all to know so you’re not left drowning in curiosity as to my disappearance. I’ll pop in every now and hope to be back to blogging full time soon.
I spotted this tag over at the Wanderlust Reader blog and it looked like a lot of fun so I decided to try it out!
CAN YOU STOP READING AT ANY TIME, OR DOES IS HAVE TO BE A CERTAIN PAGE OR CHAPTER?
I can stop reading at any time, I don’t have to finish the page or chapter or even paragraph. I’ll just mark the page I was on and start from the top when I come back to it.
DO YOU EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING WHILST READING?
I sometimes snack or drink while eating but I can’t read while eating lunch or dinner.
ONE BOOK AT A TIME OR SEVERAL AT ONCE?
At this given moment I am reading 4 book at once. I don’t mean to read several at once but whenever I put a book down for awhile sometimes another one catches my eye and I can’t wait to finish the one I’m already reading and then it goes on and on until I’m reading 5 books at once.
CAN YOU READ LISTENING TO MUSIC OR WATCHING TV?
I am very easily distracted especially when listening to music with actual lyrics or a TV show. I usually listen to classical music or movie scores if I’m reading somewhere with lots of people and noise to tune them out. I can’t watch TV and read at the same time, I’ll either become super engrossed in the books and tune the show out completely and miss everything or watch the show while the book lays open on my lap forgotten.
READING AT HOME OR EVERYWHERE?
I can read anywhere, I love reading at home (fewer distractions) but if I have to be out and about all I need are some headphones and a place to sit.
READING OUT LOUD OR IN YOUR HEAD?
The only time I read out loud is when I’m reading to my brothers before bed otherwise in my head.
DO YOU READ AHEAD OR SKIP PAGES?
I hate accidentally spoiling myself so I try not to look ahead even a couple lines so that doesn’t happen. But the one instance in which I’ll break that habit is when characters are breaking into someones office and rifling trough it or something, in situations like that I always look ahead a few paragraphs or even pages to see how it turns out then double back and read it.
BREAKING THE SPINE OR KEEPING IT NEW?
I love breaking in the spine of books cause it shows that you love the books and that you obviously have it read more than once, it also makes handling the book a lot easier.
DO YOU WRITE BOOKS OR JUST READ THEM?
I started writing A book, it’s been progressing at a slow pace but it’s happening.

The Name of The Wind

I hope you enjoyed this tag! I’d love to hear your thoughts! Do we have things in common?
It’s been 5 days since my summer vacation started and I don’t know the date. Not so surprisingly this isn’t a rare occurrence. If there’s one thing the school year is good for it’s for forcing me to know what day it is but when it comes to summer all the days just blur with one another. But now that it’s summer there is infinitely more time to read! Rather than doing TBR for the next few months I thought it would be easier to just set some ambiguous semi-concrete goals for the things I want to achieve this summer. Read More »

The school year is winding to a close and that means more time for reading! I have a bunch of reviews and discussions coming your way soon, with school ending the creative juices have begun flowing and I’m really excited for the summer. It’s always nice to get things off your chest so I thought I’d do the Book Blogger Confession Tag. I found the tag questions on a random google image search but here go my bookish confessions. I think we can all agree that the best part of writing review or discussions is the part when you’re searching up GIFs. The search for the perfect GIF that encapsulates all your feelings can sometimes be long and require you to go through almost ten pages of Google searches but once you find that perfect GIF it makes your post just that much better. This now begs the question is there such a thing as too many GIFS? I mean many of us disagree on the correct pronunciation of the word ( It’s G-if, not J-if) but is there such a thing as using too many?Read More »
