Why Time Travel Scares Me

I’m absolutely terrified of time travel, alternate universe and multiple dimensions. All these things that fall into the realm of theoretical physics I find extremely confusing and just really hard to understand. They make me terrified of their implications, especially in books. That’s not to say I don’t like books that use time travel as a plot device, I love Passenger by Alexandra Bracken, but hearing that the book is about time travel definitely makes me more hesitant to read it. Overall Thoughts:

It took me forever and a day to finish this book but I did it, and man I was just blown away. The last 50 pages of this book had me on the edge of my seat, and for a second there I thought that everything was gonna get messed up but it all works out in the end (yay!) This definitely made my top list of books of 2017 and it’s only February, that’s how good it is. There were so much adventure and romance; lots of time traveling and that last portion had me sucked in and I had to finish it in one sitting I couldn’t tear myself away!

Synopsis

All Etta Spencer wanted was to make her violin debut when she was thrust into a treacherous world where the struggle for power could alter history. After losing the one thing that would have allowed her to protect the Timeline, and the one person worth fighting for, Etta awakens alone in an unknown place and time, exposed to the threat of the two groups who would rather see her dead than succeed. When help arrives, it comes from the last person Etta ever expected—Julian Ironwood, the Grand Master’s heir who has long been presumed dead, and whose dangerous alliance with a man from Etta’s past could put them both at risk.

Meanwhile, Nicholas and Sophia are racing through time in order to locate Etta and the missing astrolabe with Ironwood travelers hot on their trail. They cross paths with a mercenary-for-hire, a cheeky girl named Li Min who quickly develops a flirtation with Sophia. But as the three of them attempt to evade their pursuers, Nicholas soon realizes that one of his companions may have ulterior motives.

As Etta and Nicholas fight to make their way back to one another, from Imperial Russia to the Vatican catacombs, time is rapidly shifting and changing into something unrecognizable… and might just run out on both of them.

January TBR list

But this year is going to be super stressful, so I’m gonna try to set a few reading goals ahead of time so I can actually read and hopefully finish some books. So here are the books I want to try and get to this month.Read More »
