Wrap Ups

My Month in Books: July Wrap-Up

June as a reading month sucked because I was in the middle of a book slump but if June was the equivalent of a reading drought July was a flood. After getting over that book slump I quite simply devoured books this month from last month’s measly 5 books this month I read a total of 52 books! Even I can’t believe it was possible but I somehow managed to do it. I read an overwhelmingly large amount of romance this month but managed to sneak in a couple of other genres in their midst. All in all, I had a great reading month and now this wrap up is huge.

I decided to take part in the Biannual Bibliothon blog challenges earlier this month but a series of unfortunate events (computer breakdown as well as internet problems caused by a blackout) prohibited me from doing so. Thus that is the reason why I’ve been MIA the past week and only managed to get the first day of challenges done. Now as for the reading challenges, let’s just say I suck at sticking to TBR’s I read a few books from that TBR but my subconscious decided to rebel and wanted to read everything but what’s was on that list. Since the list is huge along with breaking it down by genre I’m also listing them by the author since I read multiple books by the same authors. So now with that cleared up here is my ginormous wrap-up for this month.

Urban Fantasy

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell 5_stars-svg

The Vampire Wish by Michelle Madow 2000px-3-5_stars-svgrowellmaddow

I’m a bit late to reading Carry On but you know what they say better late than never. I loved it and now Simon and Baz are part of my top OTP’s. There were a lot of Harry Potter vibes which makes sense but it stood out on its own. The Vampire Wish was a super fun read as well and I really enjoyed it, I haven’t read many vampire books since Twilight but I really liked this one and I am excited to read the rest of the series.

Epic Fantasy

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin 2000px-4-5_stars-svgthehundredthousandkingdoms

Ever since reading The Name of the Wind I’ve begun to delve into the world of epic fantasy and this is my latest foray and I loved it. This book is definitely different than what I am used to but once I got used to it, it was great.

Forever Too Far 2000px-3-5_stars-svg

Never Too Far  2000px-3-5_stars-svgfallentoofarseries

This is a bit of an eclectic group of romance novels from romantic suspense to comedy to adventure. I went a bit crazy with romance novels this month but romance is a genre that without fail has pulled me out of book slumps and the overwhelming evidence this month shows that it works. I loved a lot of these books and I went through them like crazy. Kristen Ashley was a new discovery for me this month and I plowed through her books, all of these authors are favorites of mine and I managed to make quite a dent in my TBR.

Darynda Jones

J.R. Ward

Lover Eternal 2000px-3-5_stars-svg

Lover Awakened 2000px-3-5_stars-svgward

I love paranormal romance books and I have heard nothing but good things for both of these authors. Darynda Jones especially has managed to make her way into my top books of this year. Her Charley Davidson series has me addicted with a great mix of mystery, romance, comedy, and action.

If you’ve managed to make this far down the list, thanks! How was your reading month? Have you read any of this books?

Happy Reading!

  1. I’m so glade that you liked Abbi Glines books, she’s my favorite NA Romance author. I have read most of her books but I’m saving her latest two releases, and their will be a new one on August.
